As the Art Director of IF, why did I choose this photograph for this cover?
The magic that a child has is one of the most priceless gifts that we as parents, caregivers, aunts, grandparents and friends could possibly ever have. They are able to make us laugh or even bring us to tears by the many innocent (and sometimes not so innocent) things that they say or do. They simply make us look at the world in a much different and lighter way.
Robert Ganz continually is able to capture these magical moments with each photograph of a child. It is like he knows the exact moment to click the shutter and forever have this magic captured. I had so much fun looking through his work and imaging what that child must have said with each expression.
We can learn a lot about ourselves by looking through the eyes of our children. We just need to be ready and willing to see.
