Printer fusers get extremely hot. Shelly reckoned that it was a severe second degree burn, but it was better before any professional could diagnose it as such!... Shelly had the number saved on her cell phone from when I had told her about it a couple of months before. She put her finger on ice, then emailed and called within a few minutes. Well, the next day Shelly told me on the phone, elatedly, about how she could type with that finger now and there was no discomfort or pain whatsoever. It just looked like the remnants of something that had happened weeks ago; the skin was a bit more leathery than usual. That was it. No pain or discomfort!  This was the first of many cases that I have directly witnessed. A burn such as this should have hurt for days and left a scar. 

A few weeks later, the spokesperson for the Burn Eradication Project, Alison McDermott, was on the radio show Coast to Coast and several other syndicated radio shows, and since then there have been cases day and night called in to the Fireburndoctor team on the hotline phone number 1-818-332-6445. At 7:58 p.m. EST on January 7th 2010, 2 year-old Michael burned his hand on an oven rack. His mom said his pain level was 8-10 before the call. The information required is the person’s birth name, birth date, birth place, time of the burn, also, if possible, a photograph of the person, not the burn.
