A Blessing for Single Parents

Dear IF readers,

First I want to introduce myself. My name is Melisanda Maricevic, born in Croatia 1972 and still living in Hamburg. In March, a dear friend had a birthday. She is single mother of two children, a wonderful daughter 7 years old and a dear little son soon 2 years old. This wonderful mother and a true friend will be 24 years old. And for this special friend and all single mothers and fathers are this little lines:

Again and again, get up and go forward.

A few years ago I learned about you. A very special person, I must call you.
Because the destiny said it was not always good with you.
The years passed, despair and fear were often your companion,
but friendships like ours can not come by so easily.

For your children you live minute after minute.
For your familiy you fight day after day.
For your friends you listen year after year.
For me you are always there. Thank you for that.

I do not know where do you get your strength,
perhaps it is the wonderful kids eyes, help you to look forward.
But I admire you for your way, so as you are:
Again and again, get up and go forward.

Sometimes there are tears in your eyes, because you can not fullfill every desire of your little children.
Sometimes there is anger in your stomach, because some things do not go so as you want.
Sometimes there is no time for yourself, because you work, you learn and you fight for your little familiy.
But I admire you for your way, so as you are: Again and again, get up and go forward.

You're a very special person and our friendship a heart gift.
Stay as you are and never forget, after the rain always comes the sunshine.
You're never alone and important is to know: Whoever shall ask, will be heard!

I wish all the single mothers and fathers a friend like you and many beautiful moments in the wonderful month of March and you dear Jenny and all of March - all the best and much strength.
